NEWBRIDGE BOOKS

About

NewBridge Books has found a new home in the heart of Newcastle city centre at BALTIC 39. The artist bookshop has taken over the shop front of BALTIC 39, stocking a unique selection of artists’ books, prints, zines, writings and design magazines from independent and self-publishers, as well as selection by North East artists.

NewBridge Books offers a selection of diverse, original and hard-to-find national and international contemporary art publications, fostering critically-engaged creativity in the region by providing both a resource and outlet for artists, writers, critics and researchers.

The shop and social space is unique to the North East of England providing a platform for independent publishers and artists who self-publish. NewBridge Books stocks a variety of artists’ books, zines, writing and magazines as well as hosting a programme of regular events and exhibitions related to print culture.

NewBridge Books offers a broad selection of titles on various artforms from fine art, photography, design, graphics, LGBT+, fashion and architecture. With new stock arriving every week to ensure that there is always something new to browse. We are the only bookshop in the North East of England where you can find titles from MACK Books, Sternberg Press, Apartamento and many more.

NewBridge Books is part of The NewBridge Project, an active and vibrant artist-led community, providing creative workspace, artist development opportunities and an extensive programme of commissions, exhibitions and events. It was established in 2010 to provide exchange and support in an engaged and discursive community of artists.

NewBridge Books at BALTIC 39 is a new collaboration between The NewBridge Project and BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art.
